there are many middleware tools that will connect p6 and sap. primavera’s own gateway is one. ecosys is another. sap has one called sap epc. maxavera ipack is a yet another. each have their own pluses and minuses, so research carefully. as you can image, it’s not an easy undertaking.

i know planning is a tedious job specially when you are planning your minute activities with dates and cost involved at every mile-stones, primavera does have the facility to make planning of activities with dates and sequence but the financial part is equally important hence sap-erp integration is very much required to access, monitor and take corrective actions during project implementation stage itself , can you suggest any suitable integration tool that can map these two giants together.

hi shasha,
no, primavera doesn’t have different versions for different disciplines. it’s just one version for everyone. i do believe learning primavera p6 is good for your personal and career development. of course, it depends on what your career goals are.

(no, not a single person in the group is an “expert”- we have all seen roll- outs fail miserably, though!) costly, yes, but worth it in the long run if you don’t want it to end up in the junk drawer.
