the gant chart of my project shows green lines while the activities are having zero total float.
i have tried changing the definition of total float to longest path but to no use.

michael king. michael, i agree with you, but i'm curious what you mean by "when a sequence of activities do not fit fully under a wbs header". wbs should be able to capture all activities based on the 100% rule.]]>

i teach an on boarding p6 class at my company for new project managers. we create mostly production schedules. what i always tell them is that the best practice for creating a wbs structure for their schedule is to use a combination of wbs’s and activity codes/udf’s. very simply, if a sequence of activities do not fit fully under a wbs header than that header should probably live as an ac/udf. new users tend to create a wbs for almost everything and when that is copied over a few times you suddenly have a 100 activity schedule that is 25 pages long and unreadable.
