however, why would you use vlookup when you can just copy/paste required
data which is already arranged in rows, with cross referencing between the
data in first column and the other columns to the right and then copy/paste
column from database (percentage complete) which will be cross referenced with the act ids column/rows derived from p6 export. what is the advantage of using vlookup in this case?

one point to bolster up point two in the tips. when you copy and paste or extract out of primavera you always seem to get some extra spaces. use the excel “trim” function to remove unwanted spaces. it is a quick trick to get text items to match, not always but most of the time.
