thanks antonio. yes, i’ve seen the same frustration with moving some of the services to the background jobs – then there is extra setup to ensure the background jobs run properly and the troubleshooting can also be difficult.

great post

am more happier if primavera just upgraded the p6 client by incorporating the functions from eppm such as the portfolio management and schedule health check. also, an equivalent function of bi reports to include. and if these ingredients are in one place (in p6 prof/client)…maybe perfect?
and for sure…those microsoft project users might think to try this upgraded primavera. just only a suggestions…

christopher – i think it’s not. p6 eppm is web-based – you log into through a web browser. there was a version 7 but i’m thinking you’re using what is now called primavera p6 professional (the windows tool).

hi cheryl, thanks! yep, you can connect to the same db with both eppm and p6 professional. eppm does have some nice graphics and the bi reports are great if you’ve purchased them. more courses on eppm coming too.

i like getting your insightful articles – it’s one of the few newsletters i don’t automatically “mark as read” without reading.

milan – thanks! let me know if you’re a user of eppm and what your thoughts are on it from a user perspective.
