ash, not possible to do the cross assignment.
what i would do is make a copy of the baseline (in the maintain baselines screen). then i would restore the copy of the baseline to a project. you can then open that copy as a regular project and view logs, keeping your baseline in place.

is it possible to assign the activity change logs from your baseline activities – to your current project activities?
or can you view your baseline activity change logs after the baseline has been assigned to your current project?

sure. here are a few advantages:
1) using steps, you get columnar data. notebooks are just large text areas. so steps are more organized in a sense.
2) you can add customized udf columns here as well.

essentially the draw is that you have more organized data here than you would in a notebook, and you can print a report.

and yes we can leave the step progressing turned on for the project in case we need to progress some activities based on steps.

as you can see in the columns we chose, we left out the progressing columns – step % complete, step complete, and step weight. we have no need of them.

this is my question too…i think you can leave it turned on, and simply do not check those completed boxes against change-related steps. right?

my two cents: is it really necessary to disable step progressing? i think that both the actual activity steps – if any (the ones that give % complete ) and the udf’s can work well each for it’s own purpose, as long as the udf’s will have step weight = 0.
