there is a third party sw from legare that allows you to do this, it’s also not that expensive and can be a huge time saver if you prepare the distribution separately in excel.

also i wish there was an import feature for “taking in” the resource spreads to specific time period windows rather than p6 performing a uniform spread. when you’re dealing with some unknowns in the project initiation stage (usually the beginning of every financial year) it would be handy to allocate the resource spread / cash flow for the month (its not uniform for the year) from an excel.

my department (i work for a govt agency in australia) has 125 people working on 45 projects (small to medium). so i would like to allocate the resource spread in a top down way and split their allocations for each month. for example person 1 works for project a, b, c, d and only if i could split his allocation for 12 months in a non uniform way. i.e. performing bucket planning using excel and load the data to p6. wish there was a feature for this import

the never greyed out feature is definitely a win, users that are not aware of the clock in user preferences will have a chance to see weird dates/times and start investigating.

thanks for the unpacking of news!
