the whole problem with printing is solved after you set the printer as default in windows before you are going to use it in visualiser. if you do not do so the print out will be not as u set in the options. dont ask why. you cannot change the printer in printer preferences under visualiser, it will not work.
i also print directly from print preview – icon in the top left.

this is in deed a worthy enhancement. it would successfully limit non-users of p6 from messing around with p6 data while also granting them access to project information. it would be an interesting tool to use.

doneth morgan. i agree its still early days, but i have yet to see something entirely new the visualizer offers. it doesn't do anything which couldn't have been done in earlier versions.]]>

visualiser’s page set option does not allow scaling or ‘fit to one’ page. this means output which is spread across multiple pages cannot be reduced easily, in adddition the width of the date columns cannot be reduced in an attempt to scale the output. in summary the product is useless without this as a presentational tool. if the user could scale the output, as you can in p6, then it would be worth using it.

hello,

i’m having great difficulty printing to pdf and getting the page settings correct. i’m using adobe acrobat and using adobe pdf as my default local printer. when trying to print on ansi e size, as selected in viz. page setup, and selecting ansi e size on the adobe pdf preferences, i’m getting output spanning across six pages (2 wide x 3 long). the page setup is set for 1 horizontal sheet.

how can i get pdf output to match the page setup settings in visualizer?

i tried to open visualizer after logged into p6.. and it is asking for username & password.. after entering the log in id and password i cannot log in.. the window remains same with log in arrow in red orange colour..

could you please suggest how to fix it

i discovered the visualizer when attempting to develop a tsld for a specific mgmt. request. i was successful in downing and following most of the steps to develop this report, but ran into serious issues (took me too much time & frustration) when trying to show tasks under a particular wbs. the visualizer provided the parent wbs with few child wbs. some how it missed one of the children wbs (and a critical on at that). i have refreshed, recreated and rewrote filters after filters and still this one child does not show up on my report. yes, i can see the wbs id when creating the filter, but even when that one specific child wbs is selected, it still does not show up.

my verdict is still out on this feature:-(

would like for your help on how i can save this as a pdf file.

ive done both the batch file and actionscript using notepad. however i dont know whether it is generating a pdf file. it doesn’t even ask for a file name for the pdf file.

imho: visualizer is unuseful for project scheduler and for customers. just bright charts. it doesnt help me to create simple report with data grouping/sorting/filtering.
