from a government user perspective this is terrible. each x. version will need to obtain another certificate of networthiness. versions that update with .x do not require another certification. it is costly and time consuming to go through the certification process. this may cause us to rethink standardizing with this tool. it is a six month process to obtain a certification.

thank you for the update michael. i already downloaded this from oracle site and installed as well. comparing 8.2(what we use in our organization) and 15.1, i observed that the menu tab remain the same. however the sub menu have the following differences:

1. admin menu: no more sub-menu users, security profiles.
2. tools menu: removed job services, timescaled logic diagram, and claim digger. while visualizer has been added to the sub-menu.

i hope to add more to the foregoing list over time.

agreed david – that backend infrastructure is getting more and more complex and confusing – weblogic 11g is really weblogic v10.3.6 – i don’t know why the numbers can’t match up.

i think it will confuse current users, but only briefly and as you say, it’ll make the initial step of identifying integrating products a little simpler.

for a lot of users though, the real integration issue is weblogic / websphere and non-oracle applications (sap, maximo etc).
