i really appreciate the clarity and conciseness of the definitions. each term is explained in a straightforward manner, making it easy for readers to grasp the concept at hand. additionally, the inclusion of practical examples and visual aids enhances the understanding of these terms and their practical application in project scheduling.

one aspect that stood out to me is the organization of the glossary. the terms are neatly categorized, allowing readers to navigate the different sections with ease and find the information they need. this thoughtful arrangement makes it a valuable reference tool for both beginners and experienced professionals in the field of project scheduling.

highly recommended to all. who want to build career in project management. for more information please visit: https://abdullapmp.com/

amount of time that an activity may be delayed from its early start without delaying the project end date. derived by subtracting the early start from the late start or early finish from the late finish. also called ‘slack’, and ‘path float’.

– estimated cost – the amount of the estimate to build something.
– planned cost – the amount that the build should take (equivalent to estimated cost, but possibly further tuned on risk analysis)
– budgeted cost – the amount budgeted for the build.
– committed cost – the maximum amount i’ve signed to in contracts
– actual cost – the amount i have been invoiced at any point in time.
– incurred cost – the amount that is “burned” at any point in time. so, if i do 4 hours of work today at $100/hr, i have incurred $400.
– accrued cost – the difference between the actual and the incurred. e.g. i have incurred $400, and invoiced $100, so the accrual is $300. the finance team calculated the accrual at the month-end and does a journal entry for it, which is subsequently reversed.
– potential change requests – the amount of any potential change request
– approved change requests – the amount of approved change requests

also:
– cost breakdown structure (cbs) – a project accountant’s perspective on the build. often synonymous with the wbs. however, it does not have to be (and perhaps should not be). cbs elements may be things like concrete, metal work, etc., and may be related to contracts, elements of the wbs, and project costing in an erp. in that sense, a cbs is not a synonym for the wbs, but instead has a relationship with many data elements.

other items that should be included:

critical path drag (more important than either total float or free float):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/critical_path_drag

drag cost:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/critical_path_drag

true cost of an activity: the sum of an activity’s drag cost and its resource costs.

value breakdown structure (vbs):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/value_breakdown_structure

doubled resource estimated duration (dred): a measure of an activity’s resource elasticity derived by estimating its duration if all assigned levels of 世界杯时间比赛时间 were doubled.

an epci report show the engineering work package in different stages until complete and delivered. this is conntected to an prefabrication activity or installation activity. you also get an overwiew of estimated hours and when job has started, actual hours and progress. this report is very important to understand and follow up for scheduellers working on epci projects.
epci meeting helt every week with representants from all relevant disciplines.
the tool i find best to use for epci repporting and meetings is mips, but if anyone know about other systems that could provide you with the same possibillities i would like to hear from them.

scheduling: 1) fitting tasks into a logical timetable, using detailed planning of work with respect to time.
2) determining when each item of preparation and execution must be performed.

schedule contingency: quantity of time that is intended to reduce the impact of missed schedule or performance objectives, which can be only partly planned (sometimes called “known unknowns”) and that normally is included in the project’s schedule baseline.

schedule risk: risk that jeopardizes completing the project on schedule.
