good questions.
things have been changing constantly with cloud offerings, including primavera cloud. i think the biggest downside was the 25 users minimum limit.
there’s no perpetual licenses – that’s an old way of licensing that we don’t see too much anymore.
the advantage is that you get setup quickly, and you get first dips on the updates. so the tool is updated constantly without you having to be involed – always on the latest version.
hope that helps.

are there any downsides to going for the cloud.

what about the perpetual license?
will that be counted as a sunk cost if its subscription based.or oracle will factor it in?

i have been using ms office in a cloud environment and it’s just so hassle free with the ability to access the office applications and documents from any computer. i want the same kind of worry free working with my primavera. i have got primavera p6 professional 8.3.2 installed on my laptop and man! it just keeps giving me headaches. databases are getting more complicated, oracle support sucks for individual users and i don’t have time to resolve all these it and database issues. i would love to just log in and start working on what matters to me – planning and scheduling.

thanks for sharing michael. look forward to your new post …
