we have primavera 16 in production and we are plan to upgrade it to version 20.

we would like to keep our exist version 16 when we do unattend installation for version 20 but look like the setup.exe keep remove current v16 and install the v20. could you please advise if there is a command line can keep current version and install the new version.

below is my script:

michael lepage. mike i have problem with standalone p6 to access to my c// database, i checked and database file is there. when i open xer file then p6 works and opens file, this problem when i start program.]]>

hi michael, i have run into an issue trying to import an .xer file from the p6 cloud version of primavera (v.17) to primavera 19.2 new standalone version. when i try to import, nothing is happening. is there a fix that can help resolve it besides changing version 17 to version 19.2 in the file opened with notepad? many thanks!

we need defend and promote xer format! it is great database file format, native for p6. p6 xml is fine for data exchange of course but xer is valuable for different software products, like a standard de facto in construction industry.

ali. i'm sorry ali, i don't sell p6 so i can't comment on price of upgrading. i believe if you have purchase a p6 maintenance plan, then you get upgrades. i'm not sure.]]>

the only problem with losing xer’s is if there is a claim. so there will have to be a tool to open xer’s. we shared this with oracle when they stated in 2013 that xer’s were going to go away.
