arcadis contract solutions released their global construction disputes 2017 report \u2013 avoiding the same pitfalls<\/a>. the 30-page report offers insight into the global construction contract landscape with recent stats and trends about constructions disputes.<\/p>\n

according to arcadis, in 2014, the most common cause of disputes was a failure to properly administer contracts. in 2016, this remains as the number one cause if disputes.<\/p>\n

the study found that in 2016, the issue with employers, contractors and subcontractors failing to understand and\/or comply with their contracted obligations have moved up in the ranks of dispute causes from last year.<\/p>\n

causes for disputes (ranked from highest to lowest):<\/h3>\n

  2. poorly drafted or incomplete and unsubstantiated claims<\/li>\n
  3. failure to understand and\/or comply with its contractual obligation<\/a> by the employer\/contractor\/subcontractor<\/li>\n
  4. errors and\/or omissions in the contract document<\/li>\n
  5. incomplete design information or employer requirements<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    arcadis reports that their was an increase in joint venture related differences, as it accounts for 32.2%<\/strong> of disputes.<\/p>\n
